**Channels** There are a large number of channels available to you in Mystical, which will allow you to communicate with other players in a variety of ways. The details of each are given below, but the crucial ones are: SAY, TELL and OOC. Learn these first, and the others when you need to, or when you have time. Make SURE you check out POLICY to see the rules on using these channels before you use them. YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TERMS OF USE OUTLINED IN POLICY. SAY - The most basic of channels, this one will relay what you say to everyone in the room you are currently in. There are two ways to say something: > say Hi Everybody! > 'Hi Everybody! TELL - This channel allows you to send a private message to anyone on the mud. You do not have to be in the same room as the person whom you are telling something. Use: > tell bobby Hey man, what's up? REPLY - Allows you to reply to the person who sent you the LAST tell you recieved. This will work even if you can't identify the person who sent you the tell. It will continue to send messages to that person on repetitive use, until someone else sends you a tell. Use: Someone tells you 'Pst! Your fly is unzipped!' > reply Thanks for letting me know! OOC - This channel broadcasts whatever you say to all of Mystical, OOC stands for out-of-character, meaning this channel is used for general socializing and talking about things outside of roleplaying. Use: > ooc Hey, ya'll! Did you hear the one about the... STATE - This channel is similar to OOC in usage, but is used for in-character statements. The entire mud sees your message. Use: > state Verily, I have vanquished Elric! CUSS - This channel is similar to OOC in usage, but it is used for foul language, for those who simply can't control themselves =) This is the ONLY public channel allowing profanity. Type POLICY for more information. Complaints about this channel will be largely ignored, as you have the capability to toggle this channel off at any time. Use: > cuss Hey, you're a liar! YELL and SHOUT - These channels are redundant in function and use, their double existance an artifact of older days. Both announce your message to everyone in the zone you are currently in, and cost 10 mv upon each use. Use: > shout Hey, ya'll want to group? CTELL and GTELL - These channels send a message to everyone currently on that is in your clan, or in your group, respectively. See HELP CLAN COMMANDS and HELP GROUP for more info. Use: > ctell Wow. We, the members of clan A, or so totally cooler than clan B! QSAY - This channel sends a message to everyone currently in the same quest as you. SPORTS - This is not a channel that you, as a player, actively use. Instead, this channel displays messages concerning the current arena, if there is one. See HELP ARENA and HELP NOSPORTS.
