Spell Spam

Spamming spells is a method of using aliases within the mud to cast spells in rapid succession with a keystroke. It makes playing a magic using class much easier, efficient, and fun! This section will contain examples of spell spam aliases that you can use in the mud, the only thing that might need to be adjusted is the name of the alias you want to make and the number of &'s following the spell. More on &'s can be found in aliases.

Spell Spam examples:
alias 1 #20 cast 'magic missile' % & &
alias 2 #10 cast 'maelstrom' & & & & &

In both of these examples we have the same elements combained to do the same thing, cast a spell over and over as fast as your spellcasting skill allows you.

The first part:
alias
is the command telling the mud that you wish to create an alias.

The second part 1 & 2, is telling the mud that you wish to call the aliases 1 and 2 respectively.

Next we get to #20 and #10 which tell the mud you wish to perform the next actions 20 and 10 times each.

Now we have the spell we wish to cast, well just focus on the first one, magic missile. You will see there is a % sign after the spell, that % you can think of like a placeholder for the target you will telling this alias to spam magic at. The earthquake spam does not have the placeholder because it is and area-of-effect spell and has no specific target.
cast 'magic missile' %

Now lastly we arrive at the & sign. The & is interpreted by the mud as a slight pause. We add &'s to the end of the spell spam to give time for the spell to stop casting. If you don't have enough pauses in the alias the spells will cancel over and over as you try to recast. If that is happening to you, you need to add more &'s. The end goal is to include as few &'s as possible in order to cast spells as fast as you can. As your spellcasting skill increases your spells will cast faster. Thus when you level up you might need to adjust and shorten your spam aliases for peak efficiency.
